Biker jackets are back
Spring/summer 2008 sees the male silhouette sharper, leaner and meaner. So what better way to toughen up than with a leather biker jacket? There’s a huge array to choose from. Dolce & Gabbana does a brown snakeskin zip-up one, Alessandro Dell’Acqua excels with a simple, multi-purpose soft black leather jacket, while Neil Barrett goes full-on James Dean with a black studded number with cropped sleeves and big lapels. It’s never too late to harness your inner rebel.
GISELLE TO DO A KATE
Brazilian supermodel Giselle Bündchen has followed in the footsteps of Kate Moss and turned her eye from the catwalk to designing her own collection. Teaming with pals Dolce & Gabbana, Gisele – currently the face of the design duo’s new perfume The One – has created a sensual collection entitled Bündchen that’s set for release next spring. The collection will combine Giselle’s sex-bomb attitude with Dolce and Gabbana’s trademark body-conscious aesthetic to create the ultimate in evening wear. Start saving now.

Luella for O’Neill
British fashion designer Luella Bartley loves surfing but has always lamented the lack of flattering surfwear for girls. So for spring/summer 2008, she has teamed with Californian sportswear label O’Neill to inject surfwear with a feminine touch, introducing a 30-piece collection oozing bright colours and strong, clean graphics. Described as “part urban graffiti, part rave, part 70s surf hippy”, the collection includes eclectic jeans among the bikinis and board shorts. Luella has named all the pieces in the line after beaches on England’s south coast.
