Munich
Munich isn’t usually thought of as a style city, but over the last few years the Bavarian capital has developed a fledgling fashion scene that’s set to explode. Home to the German headquarters of international style bible Vogue, Munich is great for shoppers with plenty of funky boutiques and must-stop shops.

Glockenbachviertel
An arty, bohemian enclave to the south of the city, Gärtnerplatz and the next door neighbourhood Glockenbach make up Glockenbachviertel – one of the hippest districts in Munich. With a sizeable gay population, the neighbourhood’s nightlife is buzzing, as is the fashion scene. Quirky boutiques stocking international labels and local designers stand alongside jewellery workshops and vintage stores.

Young artists and in-the-know hipsters have moved into this predominantly Muslim area, bringing with them great restaurants, cool bars and quirky, cutting-edge boutiques. Just to the north of the city centre, Nørrebro is one of the most ethnically-diverse neighbourhoods in Copenhagen.

Shoreditch The epi-centre of the cool London fashion scene is known for its fabulous vintage stores and trend-setting boutiques. Over the last 10 years, Shoreditch has turned from a run-down bohemian enclave populated by struggling artists and hipsters to an almost-mainstream neighbourhood full of designer lofts and internet millionaires. However, the spirit of the district hasn’t been lost and Shoreditch is still one of the most exciting places to shop in London.

[25a0] Brussels The best of Belgian fashion can be found in Dansaert, a neighbourhood based around Rue Dansaert, where legendary store Stijl
(74) opened its doors. It’s also the home of cutting-edge designers such as Nicholas Woit (80 Rue Antoine Dansaert) and Christophe Coppens (2 Rue Leon Lepage). [25a0] Milan An increasingly arty section of town, the Ticinese-Navigli area is in the midst of gentrification with architects and artists moving into the district. Fashion designers and boutiques have followed and it’s now one of the quirkier and cheaper places to shop in Milan. [25a0] Palma The windy, cobbled streets of Palma’s Old Town are packed with small stores and clothes boutiques. Make sure to pick up some of the beautiful, artificial pearls that Mallorca is famed for. [25a0] Stockholm The former working-class island/district Sodermalm is the place to go for design stores and über-cool boutiques. Hornstull, along the west side of the island, is currently the area to watch.
