Anselm Kiefer Exhibition

The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art hosts the first major presentation of Kiefer’s iconic work in Scandinavia. The post-war artist is famed for his use of textures and perspective, as well as depicting controversial issues. The exhibition includes several new pieces. www.louisiana.dk

Gilbert & George Jack Freak Pictures
BRUSSELS
Art duo Gilbert & George play with the concept of patriotism in this major series of work on display at BOZAR. The Union Jack is often at the centre of this exploration of systems of belief so expect a riot of red, white and blue. Time has not mellowed this artistic double act – after forty years working together they are as irreverent and endlessly imaginative as ever. www.bozar.be
International Festival of Boogie Woogie

For those not familiar with the genre, boogie woogie is a form of piano-based blues that’s usually accompanied by dancing. The festival will feature jam sessions with multiple pianists, which organiser Renaud Patigny says will continue in the bar of the Théâtre St Michel into the small hours. www.88boogie.com
World Music Festival
