A NEW LOOK FOR PIXIE

A regular fixture in the front row at designer shows, Pixie Geldof is fast making a name for herself as one of the hottest new faces in fashion. Now she can add being the face of New Look’s autumn/winter 2008 Limited Edition collections to her fashion credentials.

With her trademark bleached blond crop, Pixie was snapped up by Select Models at just 16 and was on the front cover of Tatler by age 17. So it’s refreshing to see her advocating the idea that you don’t have to spend a fortune to look a million dollars. JEREMY SCOTT FOR ADIDAS ORIGINALS

LA fashion designer Jeremy Scott has joined forces with Adidas Originals on a limited edition collection of cutting-edge and rather sparkly sportswear. The collection for men and women, to be launched in January 2009, was inspired by Jeremy’s pop-star friends and includes cropped sequin tracksuit bottoms, oversized printed T-shirts, a leopard-print hoodie complete with cats ears and tail, and high-top kickers with angel wings that flap around when you walk. www.adidas.com

A.R.C meets the alligator

Lacoste has collaborated with New York store Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C) on a capsule collection of polo shirts and tennis shoes. A rare sneaker treasure trove on the Lower East Side, A.R.C was opened in 2001 by the Alife design studio and has since become a mecca for sportswear fans. The collaboration sees Lacoste’s Ardeur tennis shoe (€85) and classic polo shirt (€130) re-interpreted in A.R.C’s black, white, red and purple colour scheme with the alligator logo super-sized to a truly utilitarian effect. A gold A. R.C logo also adorns the shirts while ‘158’ on the shirt’s back is a nod to A.R.C’s 158 Rivington Street address. www.rivingtonclub.com

Fashion goes to the movies

William Rast, the denim line from Justin Timberlake and best friend Trace Ayala, has just arrived in Europe.

Named after their maternal grandfathers (William Bomar and John Rast) and designed in collaboration with Johan and Marcella Lindeberg, founders of Swedish label J Lindeberg, the range includes graphic T-shirts and cropped leather jackets for men, and printed T-shirts and tailored, double-breasted military jackets for women. The latest collection is being promoted with a short film directed by Jonas Åkerlund and composed, co-written and co-directed by Justin Timberlake. Entitled My Name is William Rast, it was shot in Tennessee and features a brooding Timberlake alongside leggy Texan model Erin Wasson as a Bonnie and Clyde-like pair of outlaws. www.williamrastmovie.com

ECO-CONCIOUS COUTURE

Ekovaruhuset (Swedish for ‘The House of Organic’) is the organic clothing store by Swedish eco-designer Johanna Hofring. “We want to change the picture of organic and Fair Trade, from wholesome and beige to luxurious, sexy and fabulous,” says Hofring. The collective launched its first store in Stockholm in 2004 and now has an outpost in New York. Adding a serious lust factor to sustainable, ethical clothing, all the fabrics are made from materials grown, processed and dyed in an environmentally responsible manner using small-scale, local production. As well as Hofring’s own collection of crochet dresses and quirky jewellery, there are designer pieces and basics like underwear, lingerie, socks, jeans and sneakers for both men and women. www.ekovaruhuset.se
